The Alumitec Racing team’s Ford Mustang was the strongest in a race that, as is often the case, was marked by an accident. <\/p>\n

The best in practice had been the Italian himself, starting from pole position at the head of a long grid of these V8-powered cars with almost no electronic aids, developing over 400hp.<\/p>\n

After a clean start, the Doohan Curve was the scene of an accident in which Fabrizio Armetta and Vladimiros Tziortzis took out four other cars. After the restart, Ercoli maintained his lead until the finish line. <\/p>\n

He was joined on the podium by French driver Paul Jouffreau<\/strong> and last year’s champion Vittorio Ghirelli<\/strong>, who were the stars of the most spectacular battle of the race. The former Formula 1, Formula E, and NASCAR<\/strong> driver started from fourth on the grid and was caught up in the multi-car accident at the second corner of the Valencian track, which left a total of six drivers out of contention. <\/p>\n

Levante UD forward Carlos Esp\u00ed<\/strong> served as the race’s Grand Marshal. The footballer announced the start of the engines to the drivers with the famous phrase “Drivers, start your engines!<\/strong>“. <\/p>\n

Truck Racing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Portugal’s Eduardo Jos\u00e9 Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong> took victory in the first truck race of the weekend. The Portuguese driver took advantage of his MAN’s mechanical superiority to lead the event from the start, ahead of the Vila brothers who completed the podium, with defending champion Jose Alberto Vila<\/strong> in second and Jorge Vila<\/strong> in third. <\/p>\n

The action continues on Sunday with two more NASCAR Euro Series<\/strong> races and two more from the Spanish Truck Racing Championship<\/strong>.
