Promo3
The premier category of the MIR Racing Aspar Cup starts its engines this weekend with 37 registered riders, who face the season with great motivation. They will visit world-class tracks such as the Circuit Ricardo Tormo or the Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto, among others. Among the favorites for the title fight, we find riders like Marc Moñinos, who returns to Promo3 after finishing in third place last season with 1 win and 5 podiums, or Aitor González, seventh in 2025 with 1 podium in the category.
Irene Sandín, a rider from Madrid who finished last season in a remarkable fifth position, and Benito Maldonado, who finished in third place with 2 podiums, make the jump from Moto5 to Promo3, along with others also debuting in the category such as Neyzan Coll, Jake Franklin, Lorenzo Poma, Mohammed Adel or Ambre Groleau.
Moto5
Moto5 will once again be one of the main focuses of attention after the spectacular level shown in the first round in Aragon, where Ethan Botti established himself as one of the men to beat after achieving two very close victories. The Italian will again face strong opposition from Pablo Arnedo, the reigning category champion and second in the championship, 19 points behind the Italian. Riders like Gael García, who had a brilliant Moto5 debut with two podiums, and Cesare Golfetto, always competitive in the fight for the front positions, also arrive in great form.
GP12
The GP12 category arrives at the Aspar Circuit after an intense start to the season in Zuera, where Marc Ramírez became the main reference after securing a solid double and showing great pace both in the race and over a single lap. The Spanish rider started the championship leading with authority, although in the second heat he had to push to the limit to defend the victory in a very close finish, making it clear that equality will be a constant throughout the season. Among his main rivals are the Argentinians Rocco del Papa and Gonzalo Apkarian, both very solid throughout the weekend and featuring in the top 3 of the 2 heats in Zuera.
GP10
The GP10 category faces a new round of the season after a solid start in Zuera, where Daniel Hidalgo became the dominant force of the weekend after achieving a convincing double. The Spanish rider arrives at the Aspar Circuit as the category reference, although his rivals have already shown they are ready to fight for the front positions.
Mario Negre and Omar Albiñana joined Hidalgo on the podium in both races, establishing themselves as two of the names to watch this season. Very close to them were Luca Castro and Óscar Mercader, who were involved in intense battles for the podium, making it clear they can be regular contenders for the top spots.
Alevín 90
The Alevín 90 category arrives at the Aspar Circuit after an exciting start to the season in Zuera, where Thiago Clua became the main protagonist after securing a solid double and showing great pace from the first laps, also taking the 5 points for the fastest lap in both heats. Behind him, the fight for the podium positions was wide open, with Hugo Urbano and Max Gálvez showing great consistency throughout the weekend.
Minimoto 4.2
The Minimoto 4.2 category faces a new round at the Aspar Circuit after a spectacular start to the season, where Julen Hernández started the year as the main reference after a hard-fought double in two races marked by equality and excitement until the last lap. The Spanish rider knew how to stay calm at decisive moments to start the championship leading the category. Very close to him were Alejandro García and Thiago Clua, who joined Hernández in two intense battles for the victory.
The action will start this Friday at the Aspar Circuit with the first free practice sessions, while on Saturday the riders will face an intense day starting with free practice and continuing with the two qualifying sessions for each category, which are decisive for defining Sunday’s starting grids.
