The Circuit Ricardo Tormo experienced an intense competition weekend with Santiago Urrutia’s (Geely) triple triumph in the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour. For the first time in the championship’s history, a single driver has claimed victory in all three races held over the weekend.

Urrutia was once again the main protagonist in the touring car races, adding two more victories to the one achieved on Saturday. The Uruguayan driver from the Geely team confirmed his excellent results, allowing him to solidify his lead in the championship’s overall standings.

Behind the winner, Frenchman Aurélien Comte (Cupra) crossed the finish line in second place in the morning race, while Hungarian Norbert Michelisz (Hyundai) completed the podium after a solid performance on the Valencian track.

The third and final Kumho FIA TCR World Tour race was a Santiago Urrutia monologue from pole position. Joining the Uruguayan on the podium were Thed Björk (Geely), who finished second, and Spain’s Mikel Azcona, who secured a well-deserved third place after an intense weekend in front of nearly 15,000 spectators.

“I gave my best and ended up winning all three races. Now we have to go race by race and keep working hard with the team,” Urrutia stated after the event that confirmed his championship lead.
