The Circuit Ricardo Tormo has hosted the first races of the EPIC NAPA Racing Weekend, in which Dutchman Rocco Coronel achieved a double win ahead of CETDM driver Aleix Piñera.

The EPIC NAPA Racing Weekend is holding its first event of the season at the Circuit this weekend, with nine races from the Spanish Formula 4 Championship, the Toyota GR Cup Spain, the GT-CET and the Valencian Community Speed Championship.

Coronel has claimed victory in both Formula 4 races held at the Circuit. The Dutchman is the first championship leader ahead of Barcelona’s Piñera, who finished in second position in both races.

“Getting two podiums at home is very special, I train here every day. The feelings have been positive, we’ve had very good pace and tomorrow we have a new opportunity to fight for victory,” Piñera said.

CETDM driver Sandro Pérez is one of the stars of the day, competing in both Formula 4 and the Toyota GT Cup, a championship he leads. Pérez reached the podium in the first race of the one-make competition at the Circuit, behind Joan Vinyes and Antonio Albacete.

“I’m very happy, I managed to come back from ninth position despite the handicap we were carrying. We’re going to keep working to fine-tune things for tomorrow’s race,” the Elda driver said after the race.

Valencian driver Marta García is making her debut this weekend in the Toyota GR Cup and finished the first race in a commendable eighth position.

As for the GT-CET, Arnaud Gomez claimed victory in the first race ahead of Agustín Sanabria and Lorenzo Mendieta. Valencian Manuel Bertolín, at the wheel of the BMW M4 GT4 EVO, just missed out on the podium.

On Sunday, track activity will continue with five more races starting at 10:10 AM with free access to the pit lane grandstand and the paddock. In addition, fans who come to the Circuit will be able to meet the drivers and see the teams at work during the Pit Walk, which will take place at 12:00 PM.
