The Second Vice President and Conseller of the Presidency, José Díez, took part in the presentation event for the Rallye Ciudad de Utiel 2026 and conveyed the Generalitat’s support for an event that “becomes a tool for economic and social revitalization of this inland region”.
In this regard, he stated that events like this “demonstrate that sport is an important resource for economic revitalization, for tourism returns and, above all, for boosting morale and social engagement in the area”.
Díez emphasized that the success of the Rallye Ciudad de Utiel is the result of “a sporting tradition built over decades thanks to the commitment of the municipality, the organization and fans who experience this event as their own. It is not just a competition: it is identity, it is territory and it is a showcase for the Valencian Community”.
For the Vice President, this rally “reflects very well the type of event we support: an event that combines high-level sport, positive economic impact, promotion of the area and values such as effort, safety, responsibility and respect for the environment”.
“Supporting sport means supporting the future of our municipalities. That is why, from the Generalitat, we will continue to support this type of event that strengthens our sporting ecosystem and helps to unite the Valencian Community“, he highlighted.
Finally, he congratulated the organization, the Utiel Town Council and all the people who make this event possible and highlighted “the coordination and joint work carried out by the local authorities together with the Valencian Community Motorsport Federation and the Royal Spanish Motorsport Federation, which ensures safe, well-organized events with the highest sporting and technical standards”.
The presentation event was also attended by the Director General of Sport, Luis Cervera, the Mayor of Utiel, Ricardo Gabaldón, the Rally Director, Joaquín Carrascosa, the Circuit’s General Director, Nicolás Collado and the President of the Royal Spanish Motorsport Federation, Manuel Aviñó, who announced that the event has the possibility of being part of the European Rally Championship next season.
The Rallye Ciudad de Utiel 2026, the first gravel event of the Spanish Rally Super Championship (S-CER), will take place from May 13 to 16 with the support of the Generalitat and the Royal Spanish Motorsport Federation (RFEA) and will have its base of operations at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
