The Circuit Ricardo Tormo hosted this weekend the first event of the season of the Epic NAPA Racing Weekend, a meeting in which nine races were held and which ended with victory in Formula 4 for the American Vivek Kanthan.

Campos Racing driver Vivek Kanthan took the win in the last Formula 4 race at the Circuit. The Campos Racing driver, who took pole, gave his rivals no chance and led from lights to flag to claim the first win of the season. Borys Lyzen and Noah Monteiro completed the podium, with Rocco Coronel fourth. Coronel’s fourth place, added to the two wins he took in the first two races, makes the Dutchman the first championship leader.

Three drivers from the Circuit’s Specialised Motor Sport Performance Centre competed in the opening round of the Formula 4 Spanish Championship. Cantabrian Nacho Tuñón finished in the top 10, while Barcelona’s Aleix Piñera, who took two podiums in the first races, had to settle for 13th and Sandro Pérez finished 28th.

Pérez also raced in the Toyota GR Cup, a championship he leads. After winning the first race, Pérez could only manage eighth in a race won by Marcos de Diego. Valencian driver Marta García, who made her debut in the category this weekend as a guest driver, finished seventh.

As for the GT-CER, the pairing of Yeregui and Carretero (Ginetta G56) took victory ahead of Brasa and Sanabria (Porsche 992 GT 3). Valencian Manuel Bertonín (BMW M4 GT4 EVO) once again just missed out on the podium by finishing fourth. Gustavo Gomar won the Valencian Community Championship race at the wheel of his Peugeot 308.

More than 10,500 fans came to the Circuit over the weekend to enjoy the nine races that were held, as well as the Pit Lane Walk.

Next weekend the Circuit will once again bring motorsport fans together with the Valencia Nascar Fest, the European version of NASCAR and the Spanish Truck Racing Championship. Tickets are already on sale on the Circuit website.
