After more than 40 years shaping the future of motorcycling, Jorge Martínez “Aspar” continues to support young talent with the creation of a genuine and incomparable racing ecosystem. The “Aspar Universe” is born as a powerful sporting structure prepared to discover and develop talent from the grassroots to the highest levels of competition.
The first global motorcycling academy brings together all the steps in training future riders, from minibikes in the MIR Racing Aspar Cup to the Moto3 and Moto2 world championships, including the PreMoto4 and Moto4 categories in the Spanish Championship, as well as the Moto4 European Cup and Moto3 Junior.
This sporting structure has nearly 200 riders from more than 30 nationalities, demonstrating Jorge Martínez “Aspar’s” commitment to both Spanish and international motorcycling. Alongside the two Spanish riders, the Colombian and the Argentinian competing in the World Championship, there is a Kyrgyz, an Italian and a Spaniard in Moto3 Junior, two more Spaniards in the Moto4 European Cup, four Spaniards and a Frenchman in the European Moto2, and another Spaniard, a Chinese and two Americans in the Spanish Championship. In addition, riders from 32 nationalities compete in the MIR Racing Aspar Cup, including countries such as Taiwan, Morocco and Bolivia. The presentation also featured the general manager of the Circuit, Nicolás Collado, who reaffirmed the Cheste track’s support for the initiative as “a continuation of the work that has been carried out since 1999 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in talent development”.
In addition to the racing project, Aspar has a school together with KSB Sport, to continue training riders for competition. It is also an exportable model that has already begun to be implemented in China, in partnership with CFMOTO, and which aims to reach more countries soon.
Alongside the sporting side, the Aspar Universe does not neglect the training aspect, not only for the athletes themselves through the riders’ academy, but also for future racing mechanics. The Aspar KSB Technical Academy has offered a specialized program in motorcycle mechanics since 2020, in which students will have the opportunity to learn in real environments thanks, above all, to the presence of their own team in the Spanish Championship.
The center of this universe is the Aspar Circuit. Located just a few minutes from Valencia, it has first-class facilities perfect for rider preparation, business development and networking. It is the headquarters of the racing teams, but also of the training sessions for students of the Aspar KSB Technical Academy and the museum of Jorge Martínez “Aspar” and the Aspar Team.
The Valencian rider, four-time world champion, explained that “The ‘Aspar Universe’ is a unique project that reflects many years of previous work. I am very happy to create something different and to try to contribute to motorcycling that part of training young talent, which is very important. We give many young riders the opportunity to grow and reach the elite in the future and, what fills me most is seeing that it is an international project with riders from very different countries. We are generating a legacy that is very important to me. In addition, it is a model that we have already replicated in China, and that we want to export to other countries in the future. Furthermore, on a sporting level we are in a sweet moment because the results of almost ten years of work are being seen. Bringing together the whole project of the academy, the racing teams and the circuit is something we should be proud of”
