The Cheste circuit will host the Circuit Ricardo Tormo Duathlon on Sunday, January 11, a race that will kick off the Lliga de Clubs Caixa Popular 2026 organized by the Federació de Triatló de la Comunitat Valenciana.
The race will begin with a first running segment of 5.4 kilometers starting from the start line and running along the Grand Prix track and service roads. The transition area will be located in the Pit Lane to start the single cycling segment of 19.3 km (5 laps of the track). The race concludes with a final running segment of 2.7 kilometers.
The Circuit Ricardo Tormo facilities will host a competition that will be held in team time trial format, a format that allows for an orderly development of the race and adapts to the characteristics of the circuit, guaranteeing the necessary safety and organizational conditions. The event will feature the participation of nearly one thousand athletes, integrated into 169 teams made up of between four and six athletes.
The race will bring together clubs from across the Comunitat Valenciana in an event that reinforces the role of the Circuit Ricardo Tormo as a multipurpose venue for hosting sporting competitions beyond the motor racing sphere.
Competition structure
The Lliga de Clubs Caixa Popular 2026 begins the season with 27 teams in the First Division, in both men’s and women’s categories, and 28 clubs in the Second Division. The Third Division, recently incorporated into the league structure, will consist of 23 teams.
In addition, the Open category will feature the participation of a total of 91 teams, made up of second teams from clubs, mixed teams and non-federated athletes, expanding the reach of the competition and encouraging the participation of a greater number of athletes.
Opening Hours
The sporting event will begin at 9:30 AM with the start of the Open category teams. From 12:00 PM onwards, the Lliga de Clubs Caixa Popular teams will compete, with the race closing with the top-ranked clubs from the previous season. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 2:45 PM.
With the hosting of this Duathlon, the Circuit Ricardo Tormo begins its calendar of sporting events for 2026 and opens its doors for use as an infrastructure prepared to host competitions from different sporting disciplines.
